Periodontist in Bakersfield and Valencia: Dr. Nima Natanzi
There is one provider here. Dr. Natanzi sees patients at the Bakersfield suite and at the Valencia suite, so the person who measures your gum and bone is the person who explains the chart, carries out the treatment, and writes back to the dentist who sent you.

What a periodontist is for.
Periodontics is the specialty of the tissue and bone that support teeth. An implant succeeds or fails on exactly that: whether the bone integrates with it and whether the gum around it stays healthy. Placing implants is part of periodontal residency training for that reason.
It also means the same person assessing the site is the one who treats the gum disease that may have caused the tooth to be lost in the first place. Placing an implant into an untreated mouth is how implants are lost.

Away from the chair.
“I feel so grateful to practice what I love and help my patients. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my wife, spending time with friends and family, and watching basketball and baseball. I am a Los Angeles native and love spending time outdoors.”
When a general dentist writes.
- Gum Disease TreatmentPockets that stay deep after cleaning, bleeding that does not settle, or bone loss showing on a radiograph.
- Dental ImplantsA missing tooth to be replaced without cutting down the teeth on either side of the space.
- Gum GraftingRecession that has left a root uncovered, or tissue too thin to hold its position.
- Bone Grafting and Ridge PreservationA site that is short of the bone width or height an implant needs, or an extraction where the ridge should be held.
- Crown LengtheningDecay or a fracture running below the gum line, or a gum line that has to be evened before restorative work.
- Sinus AugmentationAn upper back site where the sinus has expanded into the room an implant would occupy.
- Periodontal MaintenanceTreated periodontal disease that needs a recall interval set from the chart rather than the calendar.
- Tooth Extraction and Site PreservationA tooth that cannot be kept, where the shape of the ridge still matters for whatever replaces it.
Bring whatever your dentist sent with you.
Both suites see the same cases, so book whichever one is closer. A consultation covers the examination, the radiographs the case needs, and the diagnosis in plain language.
